Get ready for fencing: final session 17/09

This is our last outdoor fitness session before we return to fencing on the 24th.

Club member Justin will be leading this one; it’s based on Calisthenics* and lasts about an hour, and will give you a few exercises you can repeat at home.

What: *Calisthenics are exercises that don’t rely on anything but a person’s own body weight. These exercises are performed with differing levels of intensity and rhythm & allow for the development of strength, endurance, flexibility, and coordination.

When: 18.45 to 19.45 (approx)

Where: Basketball court, Verulanium Park, opposite the outdoor gym >>>MAP HERE<<<<

Warm-up: a brisk 5 minute walk from the Westminster Lodge car park (2 hours free parking)

Wear: clothing & footwear suitable for outdoor training; it will mostly be on a hard surface with forays onto the grass. No need to wear fencing gear… unless you want to.

Weather: we’re at the mercy of the great outdoors so if it chucks it down we may suspend or end the session early.

Water: Bring your own (there’s nowhere to refill)

Numbers will be limited, so email your name to the club (stalbansfencingclub@googlemail.com) by Wednesday 11am if you wish to take part.

(Keep an eye on FBook in case a session has to be cancelled at the last moment due to weather etc.)
