11.08.21: Diaries dates and merch

With the dust from the AGM barely settled, plans are already afoot for the Open Air, with the usual mix of fencing, fun, BBQ and refreshments. The date and format are still TBC, but keep your weekends clear for the latter part of September. There will, as ever, be plenty to do, so if you can offer even a little time, especially in the preceding week, just speak to Ben and we’ll find something for you to do.

Also for September, the hall at Marlborough Academy is unavailable for Thurs 23rd, so alternative training is being planned. Top of the list is a talk on sports psychology and mental toughness. (Beer and crisps will likely be on the curriculum.)

And if that wasn’t enough, Peter already has an eye on a venue for the Xmas do. (We thought we’d get a booking in early this year … for a change.)

Finally, we now have enough orders for club t-shirts and hoodies. If your name’s not on the list yet, you may just be in time to grab one in our e-shop. We can’t guarantee that wearing one will improve your fencing, but Lisa was wearing one when she won a Bronze at the recent Vets comp. Just sayin’ …!
We’re also looking at the possibility of club branded socks – a sample will be available at training this week.

And remember to sign in with the usual webform this week.
