St. Albans Fencing Club - Results Pages

The 2000/2001 season is now over, time to reflect on how the St. Albans club has done over the previous year.
Starting off slowly, we've had a year which by all accounts has got better and better:-

  • From the triumphs of Helen, Nick and Vince in the Novice categories of the Hertfordshire Individual championships in February.
  • Thorough to the club winning the Hertfordshire Novice league in July.

In-between we've competed in the 3 Counties league and finished a respectable 3rd. We've also competed as teams and individuals in a number of local and even national competitions.
All in all this year we've taken part in and achieved the following:-

Herts Team Foil 19 May Bronze medal for one of the 2 teams
Herts Novice League All season 1st place
3 Counties League All season 3rd overall - 4th in the Foil, 3rd in the Epée

Many individuals from the club have competed in these individual and team events - many competing in matches for the first time this year.
Well done to everyone - a number of observers and people from other clubs have commented on how the St. Albans club has improved and become more competitive in this last year. We should all be proud and can move into the next season with a real sense of purpose.

  1. 3 Counties League Matches
     The 2000/ 2001 season is now over. Bedford won the league, winning all of their 9 matches - well done
    St. Albans came 3rd overall - Not bad for our first year of competing. We were also the only team to compete in 10 matches in the season.
