St Albans
Wins 2001 Herts Novice
On
Thursday 5 July 2001, St. Albans Fencing Club were
presented with the trophy for winning the Herts County
Novice League competition 2000/2001. Spread over the
previous year, the matches have been fought keenly by a
large number of the club's novices, some of whom were at
the club to receive the trophy on the night. |

Dressing Fencer Caught in the Act!
Be
warned, this is a truly horrible photo - do not look at it
just after you've eaten, or if you are heavily pregnant.
Taken at the recent social event when we went to a Greek
taverna for a meal (no he doesn't dress up like this as a
matter of course, at least he tells us he doesn't) So rest
assured, with committee members like this looking after
the well-being of the club, we're obviously in safe hands. |

Vince and
Nick...
Vince
makes a fleche at Nick (note Nick's flash Fencing shoes.
If Vince wasn't travelling so fast, you could admire his
as well). |
Same
bout - Nick tries to get over the back for a flick hit -
Wot a great photo! |

Morris Dancing as Well...!?
Roger - We think
he was confused this
night, and thought he was attending a morris dancing class
Your guess is as good as mine! |

Electric Foil
John H & Helen
John
H and Helen having a bash at foil. Good right of way established by
John - his arm is extended, can't see if Helen has met his blade
with her's or is just trying to jump sideways! |

Flechè

|
| Andy makes a flechè at Nick, whilst
Nick tries to parry Andy's blade - Can't see if the flechè was
successful, but it makes a good photo. |

Slashing Sabre

Jane and Roger fighting Sabre, Jane
moves in on the attack, with Roger making a defensive parry- Lots of
movement (it's an artistic photo, it's meant to be blurred!) |
