Open Air 2018: And the winners are….

Another year, another resounding success for the open air! Over 30 fencers, sunny and breezy late summer day, great food…

But don’t just take our words for it:

“On behalf of everyone who came and fenced thank you for organising a brilliant day.”

“Thank you for a well-run and rewarding event. Thanks to all the St Albans fencers who worked to make the day a success, and also for making me feel welcome.”

“Thank you for organising this event, great competition, nice people, Lovely day.”

Without further ado, here are the champions!

Saber Results. Tamas Vurju takes the gold!
Epee Results. Peter Moore takes the gold two years in a row!
Foil results. Austen Rose takes it home!
Our best novice goes to our own Alex Gordon!
Melanie Rabier wins the Ladies Foil. And Coach Andy is pretty excited about it.
We also awarded the club ladder for the past quarter. Simon Caruana is the winner, followed by Jake and Alex! Well done!
Master At Arms was awarded to Jake Kirkham for his performance in all 3 weapons. A long day of fencing indeed!
And finally, a special notes for our Chairman, James Bird, and all the volunteers who helped organize and pack up on the day! We all wish we looked this stylish fencing…

We hope you all had fun and enjoyed the day. If you have any feedback or pictures you’d like to share do not hesitate to contact us on our website or via Facebook.

To another great year of fencing! See you next year!
