28.04.22: Competition update & Monday night news!

There’s been a lot of competition in the last week!

Starting with last week’s Three Counties League match – we hosted Watford.

SAFC team from L to R: Kevanne, Bryant, Philip (hiding), Daniel R, Gemma & Richard R (c)

Watford’s foil team was strong taking an 8-1 win, although that doesn’t reflect the true picture.  SAFC foil team (Gemma, Daniel & Philip) were a whisker away from winning a number of other foil bouts, but were lost on a single point.  Argh!

Perhaps the foil had tired them out because the epee was a different story – a strong performance from SAFC Epee (Kevanne, Richard R (c) & Bryant) with a 7-2 win.

Unfortunately, that gave Watford the overall win… by just one bout.  So close!

Our next match is away at Hitchin on Tues.3rd May

Fantastic representation by SAFC and some great results too!!

SAFC represent! From L to R: Giles, John, Maria, Jake, Lisa, Gemma, Richard R, Dan N
