There’s been a lot of competition in the last week!
Starting with last week’s Three Counties League match – we hosted Watford.
Watford’s foil team was strong taking an 8-1 win, although that doesn’t reflect the true picture. SAFC foil team (Gemma, Daniel & Philip) were a whisker away from winning a number of other foil bouts, but were lost on a single point. Argh!
Perhaps the foil had tired them out because the epee was a different story – a strong performance from SAFC Epee (Kevanne, Richard R (c) & Bryant) with a 7-2 win.
Unfortunately, that gave Watford the overall win… by just one bout. So close!

Hot off the press, we’re delighted to announce that Monday night fencing is confirmed:
Starting Monday 9th May and running for an initial trial period of 12 weeks.
Small gym
8:15 – 10:00pm
9 May to 25 July
No group warmup or coaching – just free sparring
For monthly and quarterly payers it’s £6 per night (a subsidised rate for the initial trial period); for guests / weekly payers £12 (as per Thursdays). Cost will be reviewed when we see what the demand is like.
Space is limited to 3 pistes, so book early through the usual webform to avoid disappointment.
