SAFC OPEN AIR 2022: THIS SUNDAY (18/09)
Entry is now CLOSED and we look forward to seeing you all on Sunday morning.
We have 13 Foilists, 17 Epeeists, 10 Sabreur(e)s and 3 going for Master at Arms!
So we have a lot of fencing to get through, so please take note of the event timings:
08:30 – Setup. Please come and help set up. Bacon rolls will be provided for those who do.
09:00 – Check-in opens. All weapons.
09:30 – Check-in closes All weapons.
09:45 – Fencing starts. All weapons.
15:30 – Exhibition matches. (Estimated timing.)
16:30 – BBQ (Estimated timing.)
18:00 – Site cleared. Please help clear away equipment of you are attending.
Weather forecast looks favourable, but we do have a hall on stand-by in case of rain.
IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT NEXT WEEK
Unfortunately there is no fencing next week:
- Monday 19th September is now a Bank Holiday due to the Queen’s funeral. As such, the shool is closed and there is NO FENCING
- Thursday 22nd September the school is closed due to a PTA event, so there is NO FENCING. However we do have an alternative event planned – a kit auction….!
SILVERMAN KIT AUCTION 22/09
The club is auctioning some kit which has been very kindly donated by Veteran member Geoff Silverman
Thurs 22/09 from 8pm at the King Harry pub (just down the road from Marlborough School)
Notes to accompany the Catalogue of auction lots:
1. The catalogue has 48 items with descriptions. All the clothing has been used, but most is in
very good condition. There is no tat!
2. There are a number of photos covering many items, but not all of them.
3. My contact details are at the bottom of the catalogue and below. If you have any queries, I
will do my best to answer them.
4. For those of you who cannot make the auction and wish to make a pre-bid, I suggest you
email me with the Lot number and your maximum bid. The hammer price may well be below
your maximum bid, thus securing a cheaper price for you.
5. If having made a pre-bid and you wish to cancel, reduce, or increase it, do let me know by
midnight on Wednesday 21 September.
6. All proceeds will go to the club funds. There are no buyer’s premium or auctioneer
commissions!
7. The first drink of the evening will be on the club. (The most important item last!).
