HITCHIN AUTUMN TOURNAMENT
Some great results for SAFC at Hitchin’s competition last weekend.
Richard R and John M took 4th and 5th place respectively in the Epee.
Lisa took 4th in Foil and was the highest women’s fencer! Congratulations all, well done!
SAFC v DACORUM: 13.10.22
Last Thursday we hosted Dacorum for a 3 Counties League match.
SAFC took the Epee 5-4 but Dacorum’s Foil team was strong, taking that 7-2 giving them the overall match win: SAFC 7 – 11 Dacorum.
WATFORD v SAFC: 19.10.22
Last night SAFC travelled to Watford for another 3C match.
The epee was sooooo close! It was 4 bouts all and the deciding match went to 4-4… unfortunately Watford sneaked the last point so we lost the Epee. By just one point!
Watford’s foil team was extremely strong, we only managed one win, so an 8-1 victory in foil and final match score: WATFORD 13 – SAFC 5. Ouch! But it was good fun.
NEXT THURSDAY, 27 OCTOBER
Unfortunately the main hall is closed next week for half term and the school are replacing the lights. However, we do have the small gym instead, but this means no beginners course, and no coaching. We’ll run 4 short pistes to give maximum capacity.
