THIS THURSDAY & NEXT THURSDAY
For 10th & 17th Nov. we are in the small gym due to unavailability of the main sportshall.
So unfortunately that means NO beginners course for these 2 weeks – normal service resumes on 24th Nov.
Being in the small gym means no group warm up or coaching and we ask all fencers to heed the following:
Please remember that there is less room in the small hall. We will be arranging pistes in the most space efficient way, but please be mindful of what is going on around you, for your own safety and that of others.
SAFC v LUTON – MATCH REPORT
Last Thursday we hosted Luton Swords Club for a 3 Counties league match
Luton fielded a very strong team for foil, taking that 6 – 3 even though Geoff had to withdraw due to injury.
The Epee was equally hard fought, but SAFC were leading 6 – 2 with the one bout to go.
Cap’n Roseblade took to the piste for the final match of the night, which was VERY close fought!! It went to 4 points all…. and Richard scored the final winning point with a fantastic foot shot!!!!!!!!
And with that we drew the match; final score being SAFC 9 – 9 LUTON. A really close competitive but friendly evening.
We are next due to host MK on 24.11 and then host Hitchin on 01.12. The Bedford match date is TBC.
