THIS THURSDAY
It’s week 3 for our Beginners and we welcome Coach Tony back who will be taking the group warm up and be available for individual lessons.
LAST THURSDAY
We hosted Watford for a league match. And SAFC were glorious with victory in both weapons.
Foil was first with Lisa, Matthew R and Kristian securing a 6 – 3 win for SAFC
Epee followed with John, Richard (c) and Lindsay going one better taking that weapon 7 -2
So overall a great win, the final match score being SAFC 13 – 5 WATFORD. A fantastic team performance and special mention to Kristian & Matthew R for their first appearance in a 3C match… hopefully not their last!
LAST WEEKEND
A great showing by SAFC fencers at the Norfolk Open.
Congratulations to Lisa who took bronze in the Senior Women’s Foil (and was the highest placed Veteran) and to Ben who took Bronze in Senior Men’s Foil.
Well done to Bita for winning a poule match (no mean feat) but unfortunately her DE was against the evntual winner.
And a special mention to Dom for not only his first ever competition but winning a poule match and finishing a respectable 27/30.
Well done to you all for flying the SAFC flag on and off the piste!
SAFC OPEN AIR EVENT 2023 – SAVE THE DATE!
It’s taking shape. Sunday 10th September is the date.
Entries will be £25 per person plus £5 per additional weapon. As in previous years we expect to run all 3 weapons and fencers can compete in 1, 2 or 3 weapons for the elusive ‘Master At Arms’ trophy.
It will be outdoors on the tennis courts with a hall on standby in case of poor weather (but it won’t rain!)
As always, food will be available and details on that and entry tickets will be available VERY SOON – WATCH THIS SPACE
