SAFC v WATFORD 21/03
Last Thursday we hosted Watford for our first 3 Counties League match of the year
And it was a great way to kick off our campaign with a win in both weapons!
SAFC Team Epee had a slightly shaky start but came good with the assistance of Giant Lindsay’s reach to win 7 -2.
Which the Foil team of Dan R, Bryant & Matt R followed up with another 7 -2 win.
So overall a great result: SAFC 14 – 4 Watford. Well done to the teams!
Our next scheduled match is on 11/04 when we host Dacorum, then away to Hitchin and Bedford on 23/04 & 30/04 respectively.
BVF NATIONALS – MANCHESTER
Last weekend was the BVF Nationals in Manchester and two of our fencers competed with great results.
Lisa finished an excellent 9th overall in Foil but most importantly, finished 3rd in her age category which meant vital qualifying points for GBR ranking.
Lindsay (who had shrunk back down to normal size by now) finished a superb 7th in Epee and 4th in her age category.
Great results Ladies, very well done!
