HITCHIN v SAFC: Match report by Team Captain Richard R:
A troop of 5 of us went up to Hitchin on Tuesday night for our first 3C away match. We were down an epeeist and Dan R did a fab job picking it up for the first time!
JD also did a fab job on the count of slicing up his team mate in a warm up bout 🤺🩸accidentally inflicting a bloody shin for Matt R, (which I understand looked worse than it was)! It was a picture worthy injury that should have put off the opposition…
Alas Hitchin were on form and SAFC weren’t. They won both weapons, leading to our first loss this year 13 – 5.
We host Luton next week at home next! (Thurs 02.May)
LISA MEDALS…& QUALIFIES FOR WORLDS!
Huge congratulations to Lisa who took a Bronze medal in Cat.2 WF at the BVF Age Groups competition in Manchester last weekend. Crucially this means she will be selected for GBR at the world championships in Dubai in October as finished top 4 (3rd) in overall rankings. Brilliant Lisa 👏
Also congrats to SAFC regulars Matt Rothero and Jacques P who finished joint 3rd and 13th in MF Cat.1 and 3, respectively. Well done Gents 👏
