REMINDER: SMALL GYM ONLY
We’re back in the small gym again this week which means no beginners course (sorry) and no coaching, as we are limited to 3 pistes and max. 18 fencers. Please remember to sign in as usual & coaches are welcome to fence!
We’re back to normal next week, 24.03 (see below). Phew!
3 COUNTIES LEAGUE MATCH: DACORUM v SAFC
Last Thursday our fencers travelled to Dacorum (Hemel) for our second league match of the year.
Unfortunately, Dacorum were just too strong on the night, taking a win 6-3 in both weapons.
Hopefully we’ll do better next week (24.03) when we host Watford for our first home match.
One of SAFC’s fencers has been enjoying some great results though – massive congratulations, Lisa!!!!!!
NEW CLUB FEES FROM 01.04.22
As reported at the Club AGM and last week, unfortunately it is necessary for fees to increase slightly.
We’ve held off on this for as long as possible, and we still think they represent excellent value.
New fee rates as follows; the good news is they don’t take effect until 01 April
Please remember to amend your standing orders accordingly; there will be another reminder nearer the time.

SAFC is affiliated to Herts Fencing Association and Eastern Region – here’s a round up of some upcoming events:
Fencing Fundamentals day – Sunday March 20th 2022
Hitchin Girls School – Highbury Road, Hitchin SG4 9RS – 11am start
Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled due to insufficent interest.

Eastern Region Senior Championships 2022 & GB Cup Qualifier – Sunday 27th March 2022
Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre, Lytton Way, Stevenage SG1 1LZ
Herts Junior & Senior County Championships 2022 – Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th April 2022
Hitchin Girls School – Highbury Road, Hitchin SG4 9RS
The tournament will take place over the weekend of 23rd & 24th April with the Junior championships planned for the Saturday followed by the Senior tournament on the Sunday.
Start times and entry details will be released shortly but due to venue availability start times are likely to be from Midday with final rounds in the early evening.
