SAFC Open Air
Another week, more fencing! The time has come to make sure you’re registered for the 2022 SAFC Open-Air Competition! It will be held on 18th Sept at our usual training venue, Marlborough Academy, St Albans AL1 2QA. Weather permitting, all fencing will be outdoors on the tennis courts. Fence one, two, or all three weapons! (Discounts available for multiple weapons.) As ever, it includes a full day of fencing, and both a buffet lunch and a post fencing BBQ for all participants. Spectator’s buffet and BBQ tickets available separately.Refreshments (still and alcoholic) will be available throughout the day and veggie options will be available. Places are going quickly (and numbers are capped this year), so please do sign up as soon as possible!
Bank Holiday Monday
Whether you’ve eaten too much or spent too much time with family – no better way to end your bank holiday Monday than fencing! Our normal Monday night session will be on (8.15-10 in the small gym) and available for registration from Friday.
Congratulations
Lastly, two sets of congratulations in order! First to Chris, who will be fencing his last evening at SAFC (for a while) this Thursday before heading off to uni at University of East Anglia. Norwich is lucky to have him (as is the UEA Fencing Team)
Congratulations are also in order to SAFC couple Kevanne and and David, who got engaged this week! No doubt a full complement of SAFC honour guard will be in attendance to create an aisle of swords for them to walk through!
