THURS. 29/02: SMALL GYM
We’re in the small gym tonight due to some school activities in the main sports hall.
So that means no group warm-up, no coaching and a limit on numbers to 24 maximum.
We’ll be running 4x short pistes and we don’t have access to the club kit cupboard so please come prepared.
Please help us by keeping kit bags to either end of the room. We’re back in the main sports hall next week.
THREE COUNTIES LEAGUE 2024
From SAFC Team Captian, Richard R:
Three Counties (3C) League is run by SAFC and includes Hitchin, Watford, Luton, Milton Keynes, Dacorum (Hemel) and Bedford. It’s Foil and Epee Team competition with each team fencing each other Home and Away, so there are 42 matches throughout the year. There are trophies awarded for most wins in Epee and Foil, and then an Overall League.
Congratulations to HITCHIN who managed a clean sweep for 2023! (it was very close though!)
SAFC finished a very respectable 2nd in EPEE, 3rd in FOIL and 3rd OVERALL. Many thanks to all SAFC fencers who took part throughout the year, both home and away.
Team Captain Richard R organises and taps up fencers to be on the team, but if you’re interested make yourself known to him! The new season has started and SAFC first bout is at home to Watford, mid-March (date TBC). Good luck SAFC for 2024!
